Arsenal News: Wenger positive, legend wants Mourinho, Gunners eye new Sanchez

GETTY POSITIVE: Wenger says Arsenal had Barca wobbling

Arsene Wenger says Arsenal had Barcelona “wobbling” in their 3-1 defeat at the Nou Camp last night. The result saw the Gunners drop out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage for the sixth season in a row, losing the tie 5-1 on aggregate.

But Wenger managed to remain positive, saying: “The performance was good. I felt from the bench at 1-1 they were wobbling a little bit and a bit insecure.

“But we could not take the chance to score the second goal to put us in a strong position. When they scored at 2-1 we lost a little bit the edge, belief.”

“Arsenal fans would be up in arms.” Ian Wright

Ian Wright says he wouldn’t mind if Jose Mourinho replaced Wenger as Arsenal manager.

“Arsenal fans would be up in arms,” the former striker told BT Sport.

“But, I love Jose. If he went to Arsenal, it wouldn’t be something that I would be against.

“I can’t see it ever happening though.”
