BREAKING NEWS: Missing nine-week-old baby boy who was snatched from his home in Telford is found safe and well

A nine-week-old baby boy has been found safe and well after being taken from his home in Shropshire, police said tonight.

West Mercia Police said officers were called shortly before 3pm today after receiving a report that the baby had been taken from his home address in Arleston, Telford.

Two local women have now been arrested on suspicion of child abduction and are currently in police custody.

The baby is currently being checked over by hospital staff and will be reunited with his family shortly.

The unnamed baby was wearing a blue woollen jacket and a cream baby-gro with a teddy bear on the left hand side.

It is thought the child may have been in the company of a 5ft 5in white woman with dyed reddish brown hair, which she wore off her face.

She is also thought to have a lump under her nose and a gap between her front teeth. She is believed to be between 30 and 40 years of age.

The woman was last seen wearing an army green zip-up jacket and a small black bag over her shoulder.

The road on which the baby was taken from has an average property value of £105,000 and lies to the west of the Shropshire new town.

Police are appealing for anyone with further information to call them on 101.
