Jobless Lotto couple who won £50,000 and then spent it all in eight months face eviction after being refused benefits

 
Last Christmas Jamie and Abbie Hort (main) won £50,000 in the Channel Islands Lottery (inset is one of the tickets) but the Guernsey couple say 12 months later that after living on it throughout 2015 there is nothing
left. It meant the pair were unable to pay their rent but when they asked Social Security for help, the department refused and they were evicted from their home. In order to get a roof over their heads for Christmas, the pair raided savings they had put aside for their children to pay for a deposit on a new flat. But with their next amount of rent due on Thursday, and no means of paying it, the couple face eviction again.
