Ryan Ruckledge, who was responsible for one of the first X Factor strops of the season, took to Twitter to post a controversial video in which he was in black-face make up.
Ryan covered his entire body in black body paint before posting the images and video online.
In them the 22-year-old wears a bizarre umbrella hat, carries sunglasses and a light up toy and shouts "Hello chicken nugget".
Twitter users were outraged over the wannabe star's outfit.
"It doesn't matter how well known you are blackface is racist, and you aren't that well known bcuz who are u," one said.
"BLACKFACE WIL NEVER BE FUNNY" another commented.
But Ryan has defended himself, tweeting: "No word of a lie I've had about 50 tweets in last 10 minutes saying I'm racist!!!
"This is NOT racist I'm "hello chicken nugget" guy from Maga."
Ryan claimed to be dressed as a well-known man who sells beach souvenirs in Magaluf.
"I take it none of you have been to Magaluf and seen the chicken nugget man!!! This isn't racist I'm a well known person," he said.
Ryan failed to get very far in this year's X Factor, making it as far as Bootcamp before being booted off.
His performance was pretty shambolic, he turned up drunk and couldn't get through his song.
He later claimed he was stitched up by producers — alleging that they forced him to drink.
Speaking to The Sun he said: "I got through the first stages because they liked my personality – and then I was told by the crew to get drunk so it would liven things up.
"I’ve been stitched up. It’s a complete nightmare.
“Why let us have free booze if they don’t want you to get drunk?"
