North and South Korean armies gather at the border as top officials meet in desperate bid to avoid going to war after Kim Jong-un ordered an end to critical 'propaganda'

North and South Korea hold talks in DMZ in attempt to diffuse tensions
Ameeting will take place at the border village of Panmunjom later today after a deadline was set by Pyongyang for Seoul to dismantle loudspeakers broadcasting anti-North Korean propaganda. North Korea had previously warned it was prepared to risk 'all-out war' as leader Kim Jong-Un (inset) put his frontline troops on combat readiness as tensions continued to mount between the two nations. South Korea has moved more troops to the border at Yeoncheon (top left), where it has also deployed anti-military missile launchers (bottom left). The US air force has joined South Korean jets flying over the Korean Peninsula (right).
