Fanning, a three-time world champion, was knocked from his board just moments into the final round of the J-Bay Open in South Africa. The broadcast video of the event shows a massive shark's fin emerge from the water before the monster lunged at Fanning. 'I was just sitting there and I felt something just get stuck in my leg rope, and I was kicking trying to get it away,' the surfing star said.
