Topless backpacker Eleanor Hawkins arrives back in UK after being jailed in Malaysia for 'upsetting gods and causing deadly earthquake'

Eleanor Hawkins, 24, pictured earlier at Kota Kinabalu airport today, spoke for the first time since being jailed for posing topless on a sacred Malaysian mountain. She arrived back in the UK on Sunday. Superstitious locals said that the actions of Miss Hawkins and other backpackers angered the gods and triggered an earthquake which killed 18 people. On the eve of her escape from Malaysia, it emerged her departure Malaysia became a race against time as tribal chiefs prepared a fresh prosecution.
