The response to news that the leader of the Spokane chapter of the NAACP, Rachel Dolezalhas misrepresented herself as a black woman has been polarizing

'Iggy Azalea ran so Rachel Dolezal could fly,' wrote on Twitter user in reference to the Australian rapper who has become the focus of much race debate after comments she made about her music.

Another Twitter user compared the current situation to the outrage over Emma Stone playing a woman of Chinese and Hawaiian heritage in the new Cameron Crowe film Aloha, writing; 'Obviously, Emma Stone has to play #RachelDolezal in the inevitable film about this mess.'
