PDP Chairman Muazu Resigns | Deputy Uche Secondus Takes Over

National Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Muazu, has resigned. Deputy National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, has taken over the position.
According to Vanguard, Muazu resigned “following pressure from party leaders, stakeholders and supporters of the party.”
The report further states:
In a letter he wrote to the Deputy National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, Muazu, noted that due to the abysmal performance of the party during the March 28 Presidential election, it became imperative for him to go and for peace to reign in the PDP.
In the letter, he asked Secondus to step in as acting National Chairman in line with the party’s constitution.
As at the time of this report, the leadership of the party is holding a National Working Committee, NWC meeting on the former chairman’s resignation.
