Is blagging bandit dubbed the King of Diamonds behind the Hatton Garden heist? Criminal mastermind named as prime suspect in multi-million-pound gem raid

The mysterious Panama-hat wearing robber (left) was pictured by CCTV when he took part in a previous robbery at a Graff diamond store in Knightsbridge, west London in 2007. He entered the exclusive shop after jumping out of a chauffeur-driven Bentley. He and an accomplice then pulled out guns and made off with £13million worth of jewellery. A former detective today said the wanted man - who was never caught or even named - is one of just a few criminals capable of dreaming up the latest raid in Hatton Garden, central London, in which thieves drilled into a vault (main picture).
