Helicopter swoops into Trafalgar Square to save woman who fell from bronze lion at foot of Nelson's Column

The woman, thought to be in her 20s, suffered serious head injuries after falling 11ft from one of the bronze lion sculptures in Trafalgar Square, central London last night. Crowds watched as the London Air Ambulance circled overhead before coming into land. Onlookers took to social media to share photos and video of the surprising sight of a helicopter descending on one of the capital's most famous landmarks.
