Rugby international Ian Gough CLEARED of assaulting his beauty queen ex after she got engaged to former pop star Dane Bowers as appeal judge ends trial early because there's 'no prospect' of conviction

Beauty queen Sophia Cahill claimed that Mr Gough assaulted her while he was dropping off their two-year-old son at her south London home, and he was convicted of assault following a trial last year. But after hearing evidence from Miss Cahill and singer Dane Bowers, who was engaged to her at the time of the incident, Recorder Jonathan Davies threw out Mr Gough's conviction
