27 seconds of terror: Dozens of military personnel injured when RAF plane nose-dived 4,400ft after captain's camera became wedged next to the joystick
The Voyager jet had been six hours into its journey from Brize Norton to Camp Bastion when the Nikon camera, used to take photographs on board, got stuck in the flight controls (pictured left in a reconstruction as part of the investigation) when the captain's seat moved forward. A report by the Military Aviation Authority has revealed that 33 people suffered minor injuries when they were thrown to the ceiling by the force of the plane losing height in such a short space of time.
