Forecasters issue amber severe weather warning for up to four inches of snow as temperatures plummet from 10C highs to -5C overnight


The Met Office has an amber 'be prepared' weather warning in place for snow in northern parts of England and Scotland for today and tomorrow. A cold weather front is to sweep across the UK with temperatures expected to plunge overnight into tomorrow by as much as 10C to below zero. And the Met Office has a 'level three' cold weather alert in place until midday on Sunday, warning of increased health risks to vulnerable people.
