War Office building where Churchill helped mastermind the Allied victory over Hitler to be converted into hotel and luxury flats after being sold for £300million


The former War Office in Whitehall in London (bottom left) and once home to Winston Churchill, has been sold for £300m and could be developed into a luxury hotel or apartments. The building contains two-and-half miles of corridors and ornate staircases (right). It has been home to a number of notable secretaries of state such as Lord Kitchener (pictured left, receiving Lord Roberts to his right).
