Sydney mourns its dead: Sea of flowers fills city square to honour the hostages who died in cafe siege just yards away

Grief has gripped Sydney this morning after the deadly siege in Martin Place and a shrine to the victims has begun, with flowers being left near the site. A 38-year-old female and 34-year-old male hostage, along with Iranian-born gunman Man Haron Monis, were killed in dramatic firefight that brought an end to his almost 17-hour siege.
