'Welcome to hell': I'm A Celebrity gets off to an arresting start as five stars are instantly thrown in the jungle 'slammer'... and forced to help each other shower

After 12 years on TV, I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Here! is renowned for being one of the most challenging reality shows.
But even the stars who have signed up weren't expecting to be thrown into jail upon arrival.
Split into two groups, the campmates first met each other at separate luxury villas.

One group consisted of rapper Tinchy Stryer, TV presenter Melanie Sykes, newsreader Michael Buerk, former Playboy pin-up Kendra Wilkinson, and footballer Jimmy Bullard.
They were told by host Declan Donelley that the viewers had already voted to allow them to have one last night of luxury, enjoying cockatils before being treated to a lavish breakfast of smoked salmon and caviar.

The second group - which included Coronation Street actor Craig Charles, 'Allo 'Allo funnygirl Vicki Michelle, motorbiking champ Carl Fogarty, Irish model Nadia Forde and TOWIE's Gemma Collins - weren't so lucky, however, and were left stunned when they were told by Ant McPartlin that they had been chosen to be slung into the 'Celebrity Slammer'.
They were marched off to a waiting helicopter, which would drop them in the jungle, but Gemma was overcome with fear as the blades started turning, and forced the pilot to stop the engine as she got out.
