As death toll from US snowstorm grows – is killer weather heading to Britain?

Hundreds of people have been trapped in their homes or vehicles after an avalanche of snow buried parts of New York state.
At least 22 people have so far been killed in weather-related incidents.
New York's Governor Andrew Cuomo said: "This is an historic event. When all is said and done, this snowstorm will break all sorts of records.
"When we say stay home, really, stay home."
All 50 US states suffered below freezing temperatures as the cold blast caused chaos across the country.

At least four people are known to have died in Buffalo from heart attacks suffered while shovelling snow.
Another person was killed in a car crash.
Trapped residents have taken to social media to share pictures of their cars and houses buried under the thick white snow.

The freak weather is also wrecking havoc with the country's most popular sport.
Orchard Park, home of NFL team the Buffalo Bills, is currently buried under 220,000 of snow.
The NFL side have offered fans $10 to come and help clear the pitch ahead of Sunday's game.
And now the deadly weather is preparing to cross the Atlantic with Brits set to suffer the "edge" of the weather system.

Leon Brown, meteorologist at The Weather Channel UK, told the Express: "The weather patterns we get are interlinked with all those in the northern hemisphere.
"At the moment there is a large system circulating over north-west Canada.
"It is steering weather around from mid-Canada to the mid-US and then back towards Greenland
