Thunderbolt and lightning very very frightening! Dramatic storms sweep across Britain ahead of hottest day of the year with temperatures expected to hit 32C today

A hot, muggy day yesterday produced the perfect conditions for dramatic thunderstorms to sweep across the large parts of the UK including St Michael's Mount in Cornwall (left) and central London (right). Today is predicted to be the hottest day of the year, with temperatures of more than 32C, meaning thunder and lightning is expected again tonight and into tomorrow.
