“We are Here to Declare War on Boko Haram” – President Biya

President of Cameroon, Paul Biya, has declared war on Boko Haram. Chadian president, Idriss Deby is supporting this declaration saying it will be “total war.”
These proclamations were made at a regional security summit held in Paris on Saturday. Discussions were held pertaining to coordination and intensification of efforts to curtail the terrorist activities of Boko Haram in Nigeria and neighbouring countries.
The people who attended the summit include President of France, Francois Hollande, Nigeria’s Goodluck Jonathan, President Paul Biya of Cameroon, and their counterparts from Chad, Benin, and Niger, Punch reports.
Hollande, who hosted the summit, revealed that  participants had agreed on a global and regional action plan which includes “co-ordinating intelligence, sharing information… border surveillance, a military presence notably around Lake Chad and the capacity to intervene in case of danger.”
