PUD IT THERE: Pellegrini loves his traditional breakfast treat [GETTY]

The Manchester City boss has been chowing down on Bury black pudding to put some extra fire in his belly.
Chilean Pellegrini, 60, had never even heard of the traditional Lancashire treat until he arrived in England last year.
But he grew to love it after trying it during traditional full English breakfasts while staying in hotels on trips away with his team.
The puddings are a mixture of pigs’ blood, barley, oatmeal and pork fat and are served either boiled or fried.
“The players and staff spend an awful lot of the year in hotels and no two restaurant breakfasts are the same. But Manny got the taste for black pudding!”

One Etihad Stadium insider told us: “Manny loves his food but he was genuinely stumped when he came across black pudding for the first time.
“The players and staff spend an awful lot of the year in hotels and no two restaurant breakfasts are the same.
“But Manny got the taste for black pudding! He even jokes that when he finishes in football he will open a store in Chile and fly in his supplies direct from Manchester!”
During his worldwide managing career, Pellegrini has always enjoyed searching out restaurants specialising in the Chilean dishes he loves – like traditional fish soup starters and tasty seafood stews.
His main course favourites include the chicken dish pollo estofado.
Our City source added: “What Manny does is often go out on his own to a remote place he fancies trying, where perhaps he won’t be instantly recognised.
“He then looks at a menu and seeks out the stuff he doesn’t know much about before asking the staff exactly what the dish means.
“He then goes for it and mulls over whether he would order it again.
“There was no such issue with the black pudding business. He helped himself on one away trip, had it again next time and has been hooked ever since!”
