Chelsea transfer war: Abramovich wants Cavani ahead of Mourinho’s Diego Costa

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants to buy PSG striker Edinson Cavani ahead of Jose Mourinho‘s choice of Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa.

The Daily Express says Spanish journalist Diego Torres Romano suggested that Abramovich isn’t keen on Costa in any case. Citing talks with a member of influential agent Jorge Mendes’ camp, Romano insists that PSG‘s Cavani remains the Russian’s preferred target.

He tweeted: “Last news from Mendes’s camp is that Abramovich said he wouldn’t sign Costa. The Russian wants Cavani.”
